Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Construction Manager to oversee a critical capital project at our pharmaceutical manufacturing facility . This role is responsible for managing all mechanical construction activities—from project planning and design coordination to on-site execution and completion—while ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Planning & Coordination
o Collaborate with project stakeholders (engineering, procurement, quality, etc.) to develop and finalize construction plans, schedules, and budgets.
o Participate in design reviews, provide constructability feedback, and ensure alignment with project scope and objectives.
2. On-Site Construction Management
o Supervise mechanical construction teams (contractors, subcontractors, and internal staff), ensuring adherence to project specifications, timelines, and budget constraints.
o Monitor daily activities to identify and resolve issues, coordinate materials, and maintain progress toward milestones.
3. Quality & Compliance
o Ensure all mechanical installations meet pharmaceutical industry standards, cGMP regulations, and site-specific quality requirements.
o Conduct regular inspections and audits to verify compliance with safety, regulatory, and environmental guidelines.
4. Safety Leadership
o Implement and enforce safety protocols, including OSHA regulations and site-specific EHS procedures.
o Conduct on-site safety meetings, toolbox talks, and risk assessments to minimize accidents and incidents.
5. Cost & Resource Management
o Track and control construction expenses, preparing regular cost reports and forecasts for stakeholders.
o Identify opportunities for cost optimization without compromising quality or project timelines.
6. Documentation & Reporting
o Maintain accurate records of all construction activities, including change orders, daily logs, and progress reports.
o Provide regular updates to project leadership on schedule, budget status, and potential risks or delays.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline (required).
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years in mechanical construction management, preferably within pharmaceutical, biotech, or similarly regulated industries.
• Technical Expertise: Proven ability to interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and construction documents. Familiarity with HVAC, piping systems, utilities, and equipment installation in a regulated environment.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of cGMP, OSHA, and other relevant safety and environmental standards.
• Project Management: Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and experience coordinating multiple contractors and stakeholders.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication in English and Spanish is highly preferred.
• Leadership & Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, make data-driven decisions, and resolve complex construction challenges.
