Maintenance Technician

RESUMEN GENERAL (SUMMARY):
Examine, diagnose and correct operational problems related to manufacturing equipment in the manufacturing and plant building areas.
TAREAS Y RESPONSABILIDADES (DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES):
1. Must install and integrate new machines or plant facility equipment and ensure their proper operation in compliance with established quality and manufacturing procedures. Must be able to upgrade existing equipment, as required.
2. Must ensure proper equipment operation in compliance with quality and manufacturing procedures.
3. Must repair and provide maintenance to manufacturing equipment using sophisticated testing equipment, specialized manuals and plant SOPs.
4. Must support production lines to maintain machines and manufacturing equipment working in excellent conditions.
5. Disassemble equipment or machinery, disconnect controls and remove defective parts so they may be repaired or substituted and perform preventive maintenance according to established standards.
6. Must be able to work in the machine shop to fabricate parts.
7. Must complete validation execution on new and existing machines.
8. Manually (ex: checker chart) and/or electronically (ex: POMs) document the required information during shift changes to comply with applicable procedures and specifications. This information includes but is not limited to process parameters, lots, production amounts, and others.
9. Must prepare documentation of all changes performed on the equipment, including mechanical and electrical blueprints.
10. Must work on special projects as required by the supervisor.
11. Responsible for conducting EHS inspections to identify and correct safety hazards and environmental aspects.
DEMANDA FISICA (PHYSICAL DEMANDS): Medium Work: Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work. EDUCACIÓN Y/O EXPERIENCIA (EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE): Associate Degree in Mechanics, Electronics or Tool & Die Maker. Zero to 3 years of related work experience. CUALIFICACIONES (QUALIFICATIONS): Must be available to work irregular hours and perform jobs in other plants or departments as needed. Must be able to travel when required. Can have exposure to noise and high temperatures in the work area. Must comply with plant safety procedures and good manufacturing practices. Must have basic knowledge of hand tools, precision tools, machine shop tools and mechanical equipment. Must be able to read and understand electrical and mechanical drawings. Must be able to work under pressure and comply with dead lines for projects, be a self-starter, and have good interpersonal skills.
