Document Control and Compliance Specialist

Document Control and Compliance Specialist:

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain document control procedures in accordance with the company's quality system.
  • Ensure timely review, revision, distribution, and archiving of controlled documents (SOPs, work instructions, specifications, records).
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of document revisions and approvals.
  • Monitor compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., ISO 9001, BRCGS Packaging, FSC, customer requirements).
  • Coordinate internal and external audits, including preparing documentation, managing audit schedules, and supporting corrective actions.
  • Train plant personnel on document control procedures and compliance-related topics.
  • Serve as point of contact for compliance documentation requests from customers, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) processes related to documentation or compliance issues.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by ensuring proper documentation of process changes and validations.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of controlled documents.

Qualifications:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2–5 years of experience in document control or quality compliance in a manufacturing or packaging environment, preferably in a box plant or similar industry.
  • Knowledge of quality standards such as ISO 9001, BRCGS Packaging, and FSC certification requirements.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and document control software (e.g., SharePoint, MasterControl, or similar).
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with ERP or QMS platforms.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
  • Internal auditor certification (ISO or BRC preferred)
