Site: Carolina, PR • Type: Contract (On-site) • Shift: 1st shift; rotational/extended hours as needed • Start: ASAP
Join the PR01 Dry Products plant supporting a new product project with full-cycle industrial hygiene (IH) sampling and exposure assessment. You’ll plan and execute IH surveys, calibrate instruments, analyze results, recommend controls, and keep the exposure matrix and project metrics current—while partnering with Operations, EHS, and project teams in a GMP manufacturing environment.
IH Sampling Program (end-to-end): Build and execute the sampling plan (e.g., noise, indoor air quality, chemical/substance monitoring, ergonomic/force assessments).
Coordinate sampling dates with project contacts and functional areas.
Open IH surveys in site systems; calibrate pumps, sonometers, dosimeters, etc., pre- and post-sampling.
Ship samples to labs; perform calculations; issue technical reports and control recommendations.
Communicate results to stakeholders and close surveys in the system.
Qualitative Risk Assessments: Complete Job Safety Analyses (JSA) for specific tasks, documenting risks, exposure conclusions, controls, and PPE requirements.
Exposure Matrix & Metrics: Maintain project exposure status/metrics and keep the exposure assessment master list updated.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with Operations, Engineering, and EHS to schedule work, access areas, and implement controls.
Documentation & Communication: Ensure clear, timely records and briefings suitable for all organizational levels.
Bachelor’s in a Science-related field with a strong technical background; IH experience or education preferred.
Familiarity with IH exposure assessment monitoring and reporting.
PAPR-qualified and able to meet medical surveillance/fit requirements.
Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.
High attention to detail; flexible to changing operational needs; proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong oral/written/presentation/negotiation skills (all levels).
Demonstrated ethics and integrity.
Availability for rotational shifts and extended hours when required (sampling, monitoring, assessments, reportouts).
Complete required site compliance training (e.g., “The Red Book”) and apply policy requirements to daily work and supplier/customer interactions.
Follow all Security, Occupational Safety & IH, SOPs, and Basic Safety Rules; contractor must comply with all safety and security requirements.
Employer to provide required PPE (e.g., respiratory protection, safety shoes) and medical surveillance documentation to meet OSHA requirements.
Support environmental stewardship: efficient use of supplies, recycling, and adherence to EPA and internal standards.
Air sampling pumps, sonometers, noise dosimeters, IAQ monitors; site IH software/survey systems; standard office tools for reporting/metrics.
Submit résumé (PDF), earliest start date, and confirmation of PAPR eligibility and shift flexibility (rotational/extended hours).
Include brief bullets on recent IH sampling campaigns (methods used, sample count, instruments, and key controls recommended).
