Our client Pharma site has the need to recruit a resource to execute the position of Safety Engineer to help HSE (Health, Safety and Environmental) team with Health and Safety activities, among others.
B. SCOPE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Under limited supervision and in accordance with the laws, federal regulations, and applicable state and local policies, procedures and guidelines, this position has the following tasks and duties.
Support field evaluation of construction and improvement projects activities, including HSE evaluation of high risks activities.
Support field inspection of construction and improvement projects activities to assure HSE compliance based on applicable procedures, laws and regulations.
Understand and follow applicable internal and external HSE policies, procedures and regulations while also ensuring compliance with HSE regulations and programs.
Support site facilities start-up and qualification activities (e.g. commissioning, IQ/OQ/PQ/PV) from the HSE perspective.
Support hygiene program sampling activities (as required).
Support HSE standard gap assessment process and actions development with applicable areas.
Support Site Self-Assessment program and area inspections as required.
Prepare/review safety communications
Support HSE investigations
Approve substances in 3E platform
C. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
BS Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial)
1-3 years of experience in Health and Safety (Construction, Operations, Ergonomics) is highly recommended.
OSHA 30 General Industry knowledge.
Experience working with safety incidents and near-miss investigations.
Experience developing CAPAs to address investigations opportunities.
Able to use a logical, systematic approach to problem solving.
Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize work based on business needs.
Strong leadership and communication skills
Effective teamwork and collaboration skills
Available to work or provide support to a 24/7 operation.
D. RELEVANT COMPLIANCE DETAILS
Compliance
The contractor shall complete the required compliance training such as “The Red Book”; apply knowledge, principles, and requirements to daily work and in business relationships with customers, suppliers, employees, stakeholders, etc.
Safety
Safety is our number one priority. The contractor shall comply with the requirements established in the Security Policy, Occupational Safety and Industrial Hygiene Policy, Standard Operational Procedures (SOPs) and Basic Safety Rules. The Contractor must comply with all safety and security requirements. Contractor company must provide all the personal protective equipment (respiratory protection, safety shoes, etc.) and provide the medical surveillance documentation to comply with OSHA requirements.
Environmental
Use all office supplies in an efficient manner. Recycle or re-use paper, glass, carton/mill-board and any other recyclable material. Observe, promote and comply with EPA and internal environmental standards as appropriate.
