Position Requirement
- Have, at least, 8 years of experience in the execution of pharmaceutical environment project execution.
- Have 30HRS OSHA Certification along with other certifications that will qualify the resource above required qualifications.
- Took the initial EHS Contractor Safety orientation to all construction personnel so they can execute required activities in premises according to our procedures.
- Coordinate all required daily permits with Construction Manager according to project schedule sequence, windows availability and/or planned shutdowns.
- Evaluate and approve required EHS documents such as but not limited to Job Hazard Analysis, Job Plans, Rigging Plans, Material Handling, Personnel and People Flow during construction, and any other document deemed necessary to execute activities in a safe environment.
- Principal liaison between the Project, the Contractors and EHS Department.
- Submit for approval and follow up until completion all documents that need internal approval such as but not limited to rigging plans, JHAs, lift plans. Coordinate project needs and documents with Construction Manager.
- Conduct a field inspection to ensure that all activities are being perform to the highest standards required by OSHA, Regulations and Laws. The contractor must perform inspections and all observations shall to be document. Update observations report with those actions taken to correct all deficiencies.
- Ensure that all required advisory signs are posted to warn construction personnel, pedestrians, personnel, and visitors of the required protective equipment and risks so access to construction area can be granted.
- Implement and maintain all environmental controls associated to project permits and as required by EHS Department.
- Maintaining control of and compliance with requirements to perform the work in premises. As well, shall be proactive and a facilitator to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures.
- Participate in the project activities execution planning for the week, weekends, nights, or shutdowns.
- Communicate the work that is will be perform to the impacted areas in order to notify the ongoing work and safety precautions.
- Maintain barriers around the project area if required by a certain activity and obtain required approvals.
- In the case of an incident at field, communicate and make reports with Construction Manager, Project Manager and EHS Department. The Safety Officer is the principal liaison between the project, EHS Department, Engineering and Project Manager. Thus, it is accountable for the management and controls during incidents or events.
- Capable of handling multiple trades during the execution of the project.
- Participate in project walkthroughs, inspections (internal/external) and visits. Prepare a report related to any unsafe condition.
- Maintain a visitor log for the project.
- Request any SDS that requires approval to be able to use products in premises. Submit and follow up until approval completion.
- Provide updates of safety issues in project meetings.
