The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management, engineering coordination, contractor supervision, and project documentation. This role requires hands-on involvement in field activities, ensuring that construction work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, project schedules, and applicable GMP requirements.

The Project Engineer will work closely with Project Managers, General Contractors, subcontractors, Engineering, Facilities, Manufacturing, Quality, and Validation teams to ensure successful project execution while minimizing disruptions to ongoing operations.

Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Construction Coordination
•    Review engineering drawings, specifications, construction plans, and project requirements to identify potential conflicts and ensure constructability.
•    Coordinate construction activities involving multiple disciplines, including mechanical, electrical, structural, architectural, and process systems.
•    Support pre-construction meetings, contractor mobilization, site logistics, and project execution planning.
•    Coordinate construction activities with Engineering, Facilities, Maintenance, Manufacturing, and other site departments to minimize operational disruptions.
Contractor Supervision & Field Execution
•    Oversee General Contractors and subcontractors to ensure construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, safety requirements, and applicable regulations.
•    Conduct routine field inspections, construction walkthroughs, and quality checks to identify deficiencies and verify corrective actions.
•    Coordinate contractor access, work permits, shutdowns, utility tie-ins, material deliveries, and other site requirements.
•    Monitor contractor compliance with site safety procedures, security protocols, housekeeping standards, and GMP requirements.
•    Witness and document required construction inspections and testing activities, including pressure testing, welding inspections, and Testing, Adjusting & Balancing (TAB), as applicable.
Schedule, Cost & Project Controls
•    Monitor construction schedules, milestones, critical-path activities, and contractor progress against established project baselines.
•    Review short-term construction schedules and coordinate resources, access requirements, and activities to prevent delays.
•    Track procurement activities and delivery schedules for critical equipment and long-lead materials.
•    Support the evaluation of change orders, contractor payment applications, project costs, and schedule impacts.
•    Identify potential project risks, delays, and execution issues, recommending corrective actions and recovery plans.

Documentation, Reporting & Communication
•    Maintain accurate project documentation, including Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, change orders, inspection records, permits, drawings, and action-item logs.
•    Coordinate construction progress meetings, document meeting minutes, and follow up on outstanding action items.
•    Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports covering construction activities, schedule status, costs, risks, quality observations, and photographic evidence.
•    Ensure proper document control, revision management, and organization of project records in designated systems and shared repositories.
•    Coordinate with contractors, vendors, engineering consultants, and site stakeholders to resolve technical and operational issues.

Quality, Commissioning & Project Closeout
•    Verify that installed materials, equipment, and construction activities meet approved specifications, drawings, and applicable quality requirements.
•    Coordinate inspections, deficiency resolution, punch-list activities, and construction completion walkthroughs.
•    Support commissioning, equipment start-up, functional testing, and qualification activities in coordination with Engineering and Validation teams.
•    Collect and review construction turnover documentation, including as-built drawings, redlines, equipment certifications, inspection records, O&M manuals, and warranties.
•    Coordinate preparation, completion, and submission of Turnover Packages (TOPs) in accordance with project and Validation requirements, including documentation uploads to SCOPE, as applicable.
•    Support substantial completion, final acceptance, and project closeout activities.
